Jacob Ross nació en Grenada y estudió en la Universidad de Grenoble, Francia. Es poeta, dramaturgo, periodista, novelista y tallerista de escritura creativa. En sus inicios fue editor del Artrage Intercultural Arts magazine- líder británico en revistas sobre arte intercultural. En 2000 dirigió el Millennium Writers’ Master Class. Como escritor invitado Ross ha viajado a Alemania, Corea, el Medio Oriente y el Caribe además de ser Writer in Residence en el Darat Al Funun Arts Academy en Jordania en el 2001. Ese mismo año, fue también Writer in Residence en la Universidad Saint George´s en Grenada. Ross ha enseñado escritura creativa en el Reino Unido por varios años, particularmente en Goldsmiths, Londres. Es coautor con Kwesi Owusu del libro Behind the Masaurade. The History of Notting Hill Carnival (1986), así como también CO-editó con Joan Anim-Addo en 1998 la antología Voice, Memory, Ashes, y el libro Ridin an Risin- An Anthology of New British Writing con Andrea Enisuoh, así como Turf una colección de cuentos cortos por escritores que viven en los barrios londinenses. Su primera colección de cuentos cortos, Song for Simone , se publicó en 1986 y fue descrita como de las más poderosas historias de infancia en el Caribe desde la novela de George Lamming In The Castle of My Skin. Su segundo libro, A Way to Catch the Dust (1999) es una colección de cuentos cortos. Su último libro es una novela titulada Pynter Bender (2008). Actualmente trabaja en su segunda novela.

Jacob Ross was born in Grenada and studied at the University of Grenoble, France. He is a poet, playwright, journalist, novelist and creative writing tutor. He was formerly editor of Artrage Intercultural Arts magazine - Britain’s leading Intercultural Arts magazine. In 2000 he ran the Millennium Writers’ Master Class. Ross has toured and lectured extensively as a writer in Germany, Korea, the Middle East, and the Caribbean and he was Writer-in-Residence at the Darat Al Funun Arts Academy in Jordan in 2001. In the same year, he was Writer-in-Residence at Saint George's University in Grenada. Ross has taught creative writing in the UK for many years, in particular at Goldsmiths, London. He has co-authored Behind the Masquerade, The Story of Notting Hill Carnival with Kwesi Owusu (1986) and co-edited the anthology Voice, Memory Ashes with Joan Anim-Addo (1998), Ridin an Risin - An Anthology of New British Writing with Andrea Enisuoh and Turf, a collection of short stories by inner city writers living in London. His first collection of short stories, Song for Simone, was published in 1986 and was described as “one of the most powerful crystallisation of Caribbean childhood since George Lamming’s In the Castle of My Skin.” His second book, A Way to Catch the Dust (1999), is a collection of short stories. His latest book is a novel titled Pynter Bender (2008). He is currently at work on a second novel.
